😭 Time Goes So Fast 😭

It's almost the end of the year and I'm seriously not looking forward to it. I only remember that first ever time starting school and now it doesn't feel like I'm at that stage to move on. Memories I'll cherish, friends I'll never forget and teachers who helped me since Day 1. I am so afraid and anxious about moving on to college because it'll be one of my hardest and saddest fears I'll be facing.

🌞 What A Beautiful Day To Do Fitness 🌞

Today was a wonderful day to do running. Even though it was a bit chilly it still turned out very good. After the long weekend everyone looked shattered and tired. Looking at the sky it was crystal clear and really sunny to at least do some exercise. Once the bell rang everyone walked casually like always and stood in line to wait for Mr Reid. When Mrs Golder started the timer everyone dashed off in a flash. About five minutes into the fitness, everyone was puffed out, but we had fun anyway.

I Earned My Monitors Badge πŸ“›

It's not that hard looking after a class for 10 minutes while the teacher is gone for lunch. But it is a huge responsibility to keep the classroom in order, and have the students listen to you. Yesterday I received my monitors badge for 2017. I received one last year but that was when I was kind of a beginner, and I was still learning to be a responsible leader and monitor.

Anyway I'm proud that after 1 year of learning how to be a responsible and successful monitor, I am finally a real one.

MathsπŸ“˜

We've started the term off with a lot of Maths! But I really love it! Maths is something I love doing at school although it can get a bit tricky most of the times. These last couple of weeks we've been learning about multiplication and division but now we're onto fractions. Our main focus is to use efficient ways to work out our problems that have been given to us. It doesn't really sound hard and they're not just normal equations.

Teamwork Leads To Success πŸ“š

This year it's all about Learn, Create and Share! Our class is combined with Room 11, and we're always working together and sharing our ideas with each other when we are learning. We're all preparing and studying for our upcoming tests. Since the year 8 students will  be heading off to college next year there will be more opportunities and challenges to face. Now is the time to set our goals.

Where's Mrs GolderπŸ€”

I came to school, only to see that Mrs Golder wasn't here today. Where is she? Why didn't she come to school? Why was there another teacher here? Many questions were going through my head. Then that's when I possibly knew, Mrs Golder was probably sick today. I have to be honest I really wanted her to come to school! Now we can't take our Chromebook's home! Aarrgghh I really hope she comes tomorrow.

Tests πŸ˜“

Last week we started another test! It was really complicated. I wasn't really ready but I knew our teacher had prepared us for our test. So I didn't have anything to worry about. We already sat our Vocabulary, Reading and Writing tests. I think I did well. Next to come is Maths. Something that I'm alright at. But fingers crossed that I pass.

The Duffy Play πŸ“‘

On Tuesday we had our first ever Duffy Play! I've always loved the Duffy Play because they always inspire us to become better readers in the future. The play was about Millicent a superhero from another planet called Zyndax helping Duffy to save global warming. My favourite actor was Duffy because he was really inspirational throughout the whole show. But I have to say I really enjoyed the show!

It's Time To Start ThinkingπŸ€”

On Wednesday we started school again for 2017!! It was really nice seeing all my friends and even the teachers. Once the bell rang everyone ran in front of Room 1 waiting for Mrs Vickers to arrive. It was surprising to see only half of the students at school. Once Mrs Vickers came she had a quick talk to us about the holidays and looking after our school. Afterwards we slowly made our way back to class to start our learning.

Our Experience At Botanic Gardens

Today was the day where our whole school went to the Botanic Gardens! Our morning routine was a bit different than every other day but it was still really fun. Once we arrived all the other classes went their own way and so did we. First we started off at the Rock Garden and continued our way through the Urban Trees, The Forest and the Native Plants Identification Trail. As we made our way out we had a short amount of time to take our last look around the garden before we went back to school. I think that everyone enjoyed their journey at the Botanic Gardens.

Back To School!!!

Yesterday was our first day back at school for Term 4. Everyone was happy to see all their friends again especially me. When the bell rang, instead of doing our daily fitness like we usually do we transferred all our resources from Room 8A back to our class. Once everything was back into our classroom we went back to our normal class routine.

Our Cross Country

On Wednesday we had our cross country race. Mrs Pederson called us to start our run. When we started I was so nervous I couldn't move at all. I  felt so exhausted after my first lap but I still kept my pace and ran until the end. I thought that everyone tried very hard at cross country.

I Can't Believe I'm Going To Vector Arena

Last Week Athens, Azahar, Lupe and me were chosen from our class to go to the Vector Arena!!! .We had so much fun that we didn't want to leave Vector. The manager took us for a tour to show us what they actually do - we went to so many different rooms that it was like a maze. At the end of the tour we finally went back to the Basketball Room to have our wonderful morning tea. While we were having morning tea they were handing out prizes at the same time. Some from Room Nine and Ten received one and so did I and sadly that was the end of our tour.

Back To School

Today was the first day back at school. When the bell rang everyone  sat down in front of Room 1 waiting for Mrs Vickers. Once Mrs Vickers arrived she talked about why the roofs weren't ready because of certain difficulties. After Mrs Vickers left we walked sensibly to our fitness.

Our Liquid Art Experiment

A few weeks ago our class started our third science experiment with Room 11. First of all we wrote down what we needed  to prepare our swirling art. After we prepared what we needed Mr Reid told us to wait outside  for our equipment. Once we added all the ingredients we observed the experiment happen.

Our Duffy Assembly

Last Friday our school had a visitor called Ravinda. She told us about her job, why we have to read and she read us a script from her job. She handed out Duffy books for a person from each classroom. At the end we were lucky enough to get a photo with her.

The Softball Team

Last Wednesday the year 7/8 went to the softball interschools. They played 5 games altogether but they won 2 games and lost 3. They came 7th but that was fine because they tried really hard to come first for our school. There were a lot of students that went to the interschools from Room 12 there were Heilala Maranatha, Anavea, Mika,Timote Junior and more. This is a picture showing the softball team from Room 12 and 11.
